Here at Clementine Com as a luxury and lifestyle PR agency, we get to work with the most exciting clients from around the world. As an agency that has a specialisation in drinks PR and luxury brands, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be working to boost the awareness of Sake and Shochu in English speaking countries, whilst boosting knowledge of the authentic Japanese drinks through a dedicated media relations campaign.
Sake is Japan’s national drink. It is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice. It is made all across the country, there are approximately 20,000 brand names. Sake is a deeply cultural drink, the differing climate and natural features of each region of Japan, in conjunction with Japan’s four distinct seasons, mean that these cultures deeply influenced sake. For this reason, each brand of sake has its own personality and own best way to be enjoyed. Sake is also developing with Japan’s culture, making it a profoundly interesting, whilst also delicious drink.
Honkaku Shochu (authentic Shochu) is a distilled spirit that has developed over the past five centuries, mainly in southern Kyushu, and is now produced all over Japan. The principal ingredients in Honkaku Shochu are starchy foods; rice, barley and sweet potatoes. The alcohol content of Honkaku Shochu or Awamori (a category) sits usually between 20-30% which is higher than Sake, these drinks are often diluted with hot or cold water. This is frequently the best way to enjoy the unique aromas of Shochu beverages. These drinks have several benefits, especially for health, as they are low-calorie, zero – carbohydrate.
Since Honkaku Shochu and Awamori are produced with only natural ingredients, they do not include impurities and therefore do not contribute to the usual negative consequence of alcohol drinking, when drunk responsibly. The aromas in Honkaku Shochu and Awamori are said to have aromatherapy effects like natural herbs, bringing relaxation and stress relief.
We’ll launch a consumer campaign to raise the profile of Sake and Shochu in English speaking nations, whilst at the same time educating consumers on both beverages including food pairings, cocktail serves and much more.
They will join the Clementine Com portfolio of lifestyle and luxury brands, which include Château de Pommard, Domaine Clarence Dillon, Spiral Cellars, Franciacorta, Don Papa Rum, Glen Moray Whisky, St-Rémy Brandy & more.
