Another day, another virtual event. This time, everyone’s favourite French brandy, St-Rémy is taking centre stage.
This December, St-Rémy is proud to unveil a new cocktail to its roster, to celebrate the functionality and form of brandy in mixology.
Partnering with French native Paul Lougrat, St-Rémy hopes to spearhead new trends in the industry and create a new generation of brandy drinkers.
Paul Lougrat was tasked to create a bespoke cocktail for St-Rémy. The result was the St-Rémy and Raspberry: 30ml St-Rémy XO, 5ml Chartreuse Liqueur de Framboise, 100ml Archibald Tonic Water and garnished with a lemon.
St-Rémy is 100% French from grapes to glass and is made using only French wines. With a history dating back to 1886, St-Rémy has garnered international recognition for its peerless savoir-faire. Inspired by this, Lougrat set out to create a cocktail mirroring this philosophy in a modern & exciting way.
Paul Lougrat will be opening his new bar, with fellow bartender Remy Savage, at 232 Kingsland Road in Haggerston – the bar with shapes as the name – ‘Yellow Triangle, Red Square, Blue Circle”.
Inspired by Bauhaus and its functionalism and minimalism, according to Lougrat, the bar, will have “approachable minimal drinks and super-fast service”. The bar will be split over two rooms – the front room being “clean design” where there will be louder music and more fun.
St-Rémy has a history of creating and reimagining cocktails using brandy. A signature serve is the Espresso Martini – a twist on the classic – where delicate notes of oak and vanilla from the St-Rémy XO intertwine with the bitterness of the coffee in interesting and unexpected ways.

St-Rémy XO is available in the UK from Waitrose with an RRP of £22.50
