Today the world renowned restaurant Joël Robuchon at La Grande Maison Bernard Magrez has been awarded two Michelin stars, making it the only place in Bordeaux, France to have received such an achievement.

Robuchon already held 25 Michelin stars worldwide, including in cities such as Tokyo, Las Vegas and Singapore and is the chef with the most stars in the world! He holds the title, ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ (one of France’s Best Craftsman), and in collaboration with Head Chef, Tomonori Danzaki and lifelong friend and business partner, Bernard Magrez, he has strived to create Bordeaux’s finest culinary experience since launching the venue in December 2014.

Joël Robuchon is honoured that he and his team have been recognised by the Michelin Guide and described the recognition as ‘our gift to the city of Bordeaux,’ adding, in reference to the city’s nickname, that ‘La Belle Endormie’ [Sleeping Beauty] truly awaken in culinary terms.’ He also emphasised his gratitude towards the hotel guests, who he believes have assisted and encouraged him along the journey, ‘Not only is the award the result of my 50-strong brigade, but most of all the appreciation from our valued guests.’
The breath-taking menu includes his memorable signature dishes which have assisted Robuchon in building his renowned reputation, from caviar jelly in cauliflower cream, to candied truffle tart, duck foie gras with truffles en-cocotte and celery fumet, as well as his celebrated, decadent potato purée.
