Maison Pierre Hermé and Nicolas Buffe Announce Fruits of Collaboration

Dubbed ‘master of macarons’ and ‘Picasso of pastry’, Maison Pierre Hermé have announced the fruits born of a creative collaboration with Nicolas Buffe, the Tokyo-based, French artist best known for his witty, scholarly works, including a Star Wars-inspired Mozart opera. The result is a compelling, aesthetic lift to the launch of an exclusive range of chocolates, apt to mark St. Valentine’s Day…

Buffe, given free reign by Pierre Hermé, has depicted the poetic romance between Helios and Roxane, fantastic protagonists hailing from ‘the Kingdoms of the Sun and Moon’.

Inaugural release, ‘Hélios’ will be available from 7th February (RRP. £32) followed by assortments including ‘Roxane’ and ‘Maskero’.

The collaboration is the freshest in a rich tapestry of artistic endeavours, which have seen Pierre Hermé seek imaginative revelations from painters, sculptors, musicians, perfumers, architects, photographers, poets and filmmakers including: Nicolas Vial, Soledad Bravi, Jean-Michel Duriez, Fabien Verschaere, Jean-Philippe Delhomme and Bernard Quentin.

The bonbon selections include ‘Paineiras’ (Brazilian dark chocolate ganache), ‘Infiniment Vanille’ (chocolate and vanilla ganache from Tahiti, Mexico and Madagascar), and ‘Ispahan’ (chocolate and raspberry ganache, rose and lychee).

Visit Pierre Herme’s boutique at 13 Lowndes St, SW1X 9EX (020 7730 3663) or online (pierreherme.com).
