Did you catch the Cointreau Creative Crew window display at Liberty last week? It was a beautifully-innovative installation (writes Holly Page).
In celebration of the launch of the Cointreau Creative Crew, the international philanthropist programme which inspires women to Dream, Dare and Create, Cointreau hosted a live art installation within one of the London store’s most visible windows. It featured a ‘live art’ demonstration crafted by Charlie Herman, alongside work by Yohan Masliah, Lilly Lou, Ellie Wilding, Robin Mackney and Tommy Pang. The works will ultimately be auctioned for charity.
Extending its support to Liberty of London’s charity initiatives, Cointreau was the exclusive drinks sponsor of the LDNY Fashion launch in association with the UN on Wednesday, 28th October 2015. And prior to that, Alfred Cointreau, sixth-generation member of the Cointreau family, designed a bespoke twist on the Classic Cointreau Fizz in honour of Liberty’s dynamic MD, Ed Burstell, who celebrated the launch of his autobiography, ‘At Liberty: From Rehab to the Front Row‘, a fortnight earlier.
Critics praised the memoir: ‘Burstell not only provides insight into a lesser spoken facet in the world of fashion – that of the bustling shop floors – but also into the life of a man who has, almost literally, seen (and nearly done) it all…’
Cointreau also became the first spirit to be retailed at the iconic department store. Feeling strong parity between the heritage-rich, nineteenth century companies that are Cointreau of Angers and Liberty of London, Burstell joined a host of influential creatives in befriending the Cointreau Creative Crew, which is led by model-turned-actress, Laetitia Casta. Casta oversees a jury to award an upcoming creative with the potentially life-changing opportunity to win a £20,000 grant to breathe life into their creative career. Further supporters of the campaign include: Eva Longoria, Charlie Winston, Nick Ede and Jo Elvin.
