#5Marathons5Days

We’re so thrilled to announce that it will be raising awareness of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, by undertaking the challenge to collectively run the total distance of a marathon every day for five days throughout the week.

Throughout the #5Marathons5Days challenge, Clementine Com will be raising awareness and money for a cause that is close to its heart, in support of mental health and suicide prevention charity, Beder. Beder was founded by Razzak Mirjan and his family in honour of his younger brother, Beder Mirjan, who sadly took his own life at the age of 18 in 2017.

After a year where more people than ever have been affected by mental health issues, we announced its partnership with Beder in early 2021 to promote both the charity and its purpose, and Mental Health Awareness Week offers the perfect chance for the team to take on this collective challenge.

“Looking after our wellbeing has always been important to the team, however the impact of the last year has meant that all employees’ mental health and stress levels have been affected in some way, and like never before, as we have been forced to adapt to new ways of working. This has made us more aware than ever of the importance in looking after our mental wellbeing, and to invest our efforts in supporting these issues. It is a privilege to work with Beder and raise awareness of a cause that, as a team, we are incredibly passionate about, and we look forward to doing so through our #5Marathons5Days challenge, and beyond” Ellie Walshe, Senior Account Manager at Clementine Com comments.

Mental Health Awareness Week is the annual event that was set up by the Mental Health Foundation 21 years ago. This year, the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week is Nature, as it has been shown that one of the key ways that people managed their mental health during lockdown was through escaping to green spaces and spending time outdoors. The #5Marathon5Days Challenge will see the Clementine Com team step out into nature as they complete their miles by running, walking or cycling around some of London’s best green spaces.

The charity will also be hosting a collection of initiatives throughout Mental Health Awareness week including #NotAnotherWalk which will see people step out of their normal paths and discover a new route such as a national park or National Trust trail. Beder will also be sharing some of its top nature spots in the UK’s five largest cities to inspire people across the country to enjoy the great outdoors. Plus, there will be partnerships with influential individuals to showcase the range of activities that can support mental health, including breathwork sessions and interior design tips on how to bring nature into your own home.

We’re asking for any donations, big or small, that will be going to Beder, to be paid to our Just Giving page, where all proceeds will go towards raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. The link can be found here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/clementinecommunications
