Lockdown might mean many of us are working from home again, but it’s important to check in with your team, and we have been doing this with weekly drinks at the end of the day every Thursday. As an agency working across various luxury drinks clients, we like to think we have pretty discerning taste when it comes to evening tipples, so here are the offerings the Clementine Com team has been turning to during lockdown, as well as bringing to our Thursday catch ups:
Clemence, Managing Director – Having worked across a number of wine accounts in my years of working in drinks PR, I have to say nothing quite announces the end of the day like a lovely glass of wine. Since it’s getting colder, I’m tending towards a glass or two of red wine; the Clarendelle Médoc 2016 from Domaine Clarence Dillon is outstanding.
Lara, Office Manager – Last lockdown I cracked the secret to a good homemade mojito (lots and lots of crushed mint), so I’ve been turning to this as my drink of choice. Don Papa Rum adds the perfect spiced twist to liven it up for lockdown 2.0. – fresh, satisfying and, as I don’t work on Friday, the perfect way to end to the working week with everyone on Thursdays!
Liz, Senior PR Director – There’s nothing like a great glass of white wine; a crisp glass straight out of the fridge always feels like a lovely little luxury, and it’s more important than ever to remember to focus on the small luxuries when the world continues to change around us. Cramele Recas’ Sorcova Pinot Grigio is one of my absolute favourites; I always have some in my cellar.
Ellie, Senior Account Manager – Whilst I do love a cocktail, I also really appreciate a small glass of brandy, especially as we near Christmas and the weather gets cooler. The St Rémy XO brandy is so autumnal, with it’s vanilla and gingerbread notes and feels like a very decadent way to end the working day.
Cath, Account Executive – Taking your mind off lockdown is most easily done with sparkling wine, so that’s usually what I chose for Thursday evening drinks. There are so many options to chose from, and with Berkmann Wine Cellars re-opening their Help For Hospitality Initiative, allowing customers to shop on their site, I’ve been slowly working my way through their offerings; all for work purposes of course!
Josh, Account Executive – I think my favourite drink of choice during lockdown has been the simplest; a nice cold beer. Small Beer is great because it’s low ABV so I don’t have to worry about any headaches the next day – I often pick up their Session Pale from Waitrose. It has notes of citrus in that I love; their classic Lager is also a go to for me.
Emma, Junior Account Executive – I’ve been making an effort to be healthier this lockdown before inevitably indulging at Christmas, so I’ve been stocking up on Gibson’s Goodology. Their CBD infused sparkling teas are so delicious, and have no nasty ingredients, so I feel like I’m indulging whilst also making a healthy choice.
Manon, Account Assistant – Since moving across to England from France, I’ve been exploring the best that British drinks have to offer, and nothing seems to beat Scotch whisky. Glen Moray Single Malt is one of my favourites so far – it’s powerful, so a small glass is all you need, and it makes me feel cosy and cultured at the same time!
