Domaine Clarence Dillon launches the Pavillon Catelan and announces the opening of a new shop, under the brand name of its subsidiary, La Cave du Château.
The Pavillon Catelan is the end result of the renovation of an old building dating back to the 19th century. It is designed for welcoming visitors in a setting that celebrates the French art of living, to offer services and bespoke
reception venues, and to provide guests with access to wines of the group to be tasted on the premises or in the
shop, La Cave du Château, Bordeaux.
A little background…
The Marquis of Catelan ordered the construction of this house so that he could manage part of the estate of Château Haut-Brion, at a time when the property had been divided between two heirs. Over the decades, it has been extended, altered and even used as accommodation for vineyard employees of Château Haut-Brion, once the property was reunified in 1841.

From Autumn 2021, bespoke reception venues
On arrival at the Pavillon Catelan, located between
Domaine Clarence Dillon’s two left bank properties, the
visitor will be immersed in the refined and welcoming
realm of Châteaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. Over the past four years, all the restructuring of the building and its decoration have been carefully considered and supervised by Prince Robert Luxemburg, Managing Director of this family owned company.
On the ground floor, the spacious Salle des Vignes, featuring a patio that runs along its entire length, will give a magnificent view overlooking the vineyard of Château Haut-Brion. It will be possible to book this large reception
room for private events.
On the first floor, two further reception rooms, respectively the Salon des Dames and the Salon des Gentilshommes,
will also be able to be booked for any private reception. The Pavillon Catelan will have a large professional kitchen
at its disposal, making it possible to ensure catering in the various reception venues.

La Cave du Château, Bordeaux
The third shop of the company “La Cave du Château”, established in 2015 just a short walk from the Champs Elysées, has become a key destination for connoisseurs of fine wines and spirits from France’s terroirs. At the beginning of July 2021, La Cave du Château (Bordeaux)
will open its doors on the ground floor of the Pavillon Catelan.
Intended mainly for visitors to the Domain, but also open to its neighbours of the Bordeaux region, this superb shop provides wine lovers with the possibility of purchasing the latest vintages, as well as a few gems or rarities which come directly from the Châteaux or wines of the group, notably some exceptional vertical series of vintages.
With a vast vaulted cellar built by the Marquis of Catelan, extended by its own patio, an ideal setting for fair weather days, tastings can be held here, as well as private or professional receptions. This large cellar is also equipped with a 130-inch flat screen.
La Cave du Château (Bordeaux) organises private tastings of the wines of the group, with various suggested or bespoke themes. This exceptional area is open to keen wine lovers, as well as to the most expert wine tasters. Beneath the floodlit vaults of the Grand Cellar or in
the shop, the experience will be totally immersive.
