The wizards at Cramele Recas, Romania’s largest exporter of wine – have struck again with the new Babele range, available at Laithwaites, featuring a Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and Rosé. This new range is a continuation of Cramele Recas offering consumers a greater choice, while being dedicated to putting Romania on the map for its fantastic wines.
The premiumization of Cramele Recas’ offering in the UK can be seen in these three new delicious vegan wines.
The Babele Merlot is a succulent dark violet wine. Complimented by rich aromas of dark fruits, plum and blackberry, with notes of spice and a hint of vanilla. Medium bodied, but full of jammy fruit flavours – blackcurrant, even a hint of dark chocolate, with warm tannins and a fine finish. Absolutely delectable when paired with a rich pasta dish.

The Babele Rosé has cascades of lively raspberry and floral aromas, with crisp, festive strawberry, Gala apple and spice flavours that rally toward the zesty finish. Would be perfectly paired, lightly chilled, with Asian dishes, salmon, or salads.

The Babele Sauvignon Blanc is full of racy passion fruit, tangerine and gooseberry flavours which are graceful and elegant, with a lovely, alive mouth feel and a medium body. A zingy acidity adds to the elegance and the flavours echo on the finish. Ideal with salads, shellfish, green herbs or simply on its own, by the pool, in a large, chilled glass. Truly excellent value and brilliantly consistent.
